1) Jodee, what did you learn after your Chuckanut 50k experience?  Will you change anything at the Lake Sonoma 50miler next weekend?

I will try to run much more conservatively- especially since its a longer distance and new to me.

2) What shoes, food, and pack do you plan on wearing/using?

Kinabalu, coconut water and potato chips and as few gels as possible, some little pack by Ultimate Direction [Jenny Collection Meow Pack].  Oh,I will take S caps… and I’d like to try a new gel. On my run today I was thinking of mixing up some honey and tahini…

3) If you make the top 3, will you do the Western States 100 in June? I highly recommend it–you never know when you’ll be able to get in again!!

100 miles is what crazy people do. Maybe I’m just that crazy…

4) If you are predicted to win by irunfar.com, will that stress you out?  Do you worry about the pressures of high expections? (If Bryon does not pick you to win, I just might not advertise on there for a while 🙂

I don’t need any more stress than what 50 miles already is on my own mind and body. The buzz dose not matter- its a journey I ultimately take alone.

5) Now that Kara Goucher moved back to Boulder, she says she’s looking into trail racing and ultra distances.  What would it be like to be next to her at the starting line?

It would be like “There’s Kara Goucher. She is fast,” in my head.

6) Did you like your cover photo on April’s Ultra Running Magazine? Was it a surprise to see or did they let you know you were on the cover before hand?

I like the cover and it was a surprise. Chuck from Bellingham posted a link on the Facebook which is how I found out. Then I told my mom.

7) Will you visit the San Francisco Running Co. on your way to Sonoma?

I am not planning on going into San Fran but the possibility exists. Should I? I am driving to the race with my bf and my doggie. We are planning on a little wandering after the big jog…
Thanks again for being such a rad running resource and support. I hope I represent PNW well-
