Altra’s lack of shipping dependability has given us many reasons to come up with this hash-tag for the brand: #EmbraceTheDelay
Our Lone Peak 2.0s were somehow “mis-entered” in Altra’s system, leaving us empty handed–or rather with one size 10, one size 11.5, one size 13 and one size 15. Most women’s sizes came, thankfully. Now we have to cross our fingers and hope that we will be able to get the rest of the shoes some time soon.
I really think the reasoning is an excuse. Altra is simply not making enough shoes. They continue to underestimate demand…which leaves us all waiting.
Case in point:
today we received a size 12 Mens Olympus, that was on our May 1st pre-season order. (We place pre-season orders well in advance to help companies know how many shoes to produce–and more importantly: to secure our own supply at the best pricing.)
When I think of all this I cannot help but recall Seinfeld’s bit about rental cars.
