I had an idea that I’d give this great speech prior to our film screening Saturday night. A speech to thank all of those who’ve helped us make it three years in business. I tried, but it didn’t come out as articulate as the recipients of my thanks deserve.
First and foremost I have to thank are very first employee: Glenn Tachiyama. He does a lot of our social media; takes all the pictures for the website; and works at the shop up to 4 times a week. All that aside, he’s a pillar of the trail running community in the Northwest and we, as a shop, have been supported by his epicness.
RainShadow Running (Gorge Registration opens 10/22 on ultrasignup!!) has also been extremely pivotal to our shop’s credibility and longevity. Since the Deception Pass 50k/25k in 2012 we’ve partnered with them at every race.
While we appreciate all of our brands, Pearl Izumi and Altra have been the two most important to our business since opening. Not only in terms of sales, but they have paid us a lot of social media attention and provided us with ample product for employees and sponsored team7hills runners.
Team 7 hills: it’s not just several sponsored runners. It’s all the folks that have supported our shop by coming to events, following us on social media, and buying gear. Without all of you loyal customers, we would not still be here!
My family has been very supportive of this running shop endeavor–to say the least! Without their help, we never would have opened our doors.
I consider all of our current and former employees part of the #7hillsFamily and owe them much more than the hourly wages we’ve given them.
Thanks to all of you for standing by us!
We’ll see you in the years to come,
Phil Kochik (owner)
