Team 7hills Spring Update Part One

Here we take a few moments to catch up with the some of the sponsored women of Team 7hills.  We simply asked everyone “what have you been up to? what’s on the horizon?”

Tomorrow we’ll tackle the dudes.

Jodee Adams-Moore:

Hi 7 HillZZZZ,

I’ve been MIA on the racing scene, but I’v been running most every day down in California.  I am on a van tour with my bf and dog, checking out the California coast from NorCal on down. My favorite runs so far have been on a crazy hill high up in Humbolt County amidst several “bandits” on the loose and an epic trail on Point Reyes Seashore one late afternoon.  I’m currently visiting my folks and hitting up some sweet little trails down here. My favorite is in the Johnson Ranch area in San Luis Obispo, the Morning Glory trail; here is a poem about it:

Take me through rolling pastures and little oak forests
across train tracks and cattle grates
up into the eucalyptus forest

Passing through Enandor’s gates
I skip right up the rocky red
and find a way to shake a puzzled head
and look up at towers in the sky

Roll me across this bobcat back
and take me back
to volcanic horizon
to crested blue ocean
and dog by my side

Amidst all the beauty I miss Bellingham, so hope to return there pretty soon and get into some racing. It’s been an exciting trip so far with art and runs and adventure. Thanks Team 7 Hills!

Gwen:

My response would be more interesting 2 months ago… The plan for spring racing was to defend my masters title at the cap peak 50 mile; defend 1st at lost lake 50k, and try for the “Rusty Spur club” ( under 24 hours) at the Bighorn 100.  Instead I am trying to be a good patient while rehabbing a stress injury. So no running…because I am slightly crazy, I have not given up on at least running the Bighorn 100. It would be my 6th time. So I am hoping to volunteer at cap peak and/or lost lake. If I do this right, I should be back to running this summer, and will have better adventures to talk about.

Alicia:

After taking lots of time to recover after Gorge, I was basically bracing myself, for starting to train for this race at the end of May! http://www.worldtrail2015.com/ (Pretty excited about it! And scared! 5,300 meters of climbing?!)So, I spent last weekend lazing around in Squamish; had a tea party by the river, and did some recon to see about getting across on a cable car one day! After all the rest I feel rejuvenated to train for the race next month, yay!
Thanks to Kay for compiling everyone’s answers!  Kay is our newest employee and now a sponsored runner herself!!

Kay:

Having a change of plan assuming I can figure out the logistics and make it work…I got off the waitlist for the North Downs Way 100 (August 8th in the UK). Will likely scrub the Black Rat 50k in favour of the greater challenge and adventure in unexplored territory.
Otherwise, next up: Sun Mtn 50k.

Thanks everyone!!
check back in tomorrow to see what the guys have to say!
